Celebrating Our Orlando Main Streets
Last updated on August 01, 2017
Last week, I attended the sixth annual Main Streets Program Awards Ceremony, where I had the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the success of our Main Streets program.
Learn more about the Orlando Main Streets program
To date, the Orlando Main Streets program has made more than $1 billion in public and private improvements, opened 950 new businesses and created nearly 5,600 full and part-time jobs. Even more significantly, the program has strengthened the connection our city shares with its local businesses and communities by providing unique and engaging gathering places where we can enjoy a cup of coffee, explore an art festival, or share a wonderful meal together.
This week, Orlando Main Streets will be hosting its third annual Restaurant Week, where more than 30 restaurants will join in the celebration by doing what they do best: creating opportunities for families and friends to come together and enjoy all their community has to offer.
Community involvement and collaboration have been the foundation of this program from the beginning, and that’s what makes our Main Streets so special. The program’s success is all due to the time and talents of passionate volunteers, businesses and community leaders who are dedicated to making Orlando a wonderful place to call home.
I could not be more proud of our Main Streets, and I look forward to celebrating the continued growth and opportunities within our districts.
