The Orlando Fire Department invites the public to join us in honoring and recognizing the department's service members who made the ultimate sacrifice including the line of duty deaths and service-related deaths.
The ceremony is held annually in December to commemorate December 2, 1972, the date OFD lost Assistant Chief George Calvin Bookhardt in the line of duty. Tragically, it’s one of several losses our department has suffered in its more than 141 year history.
We continue to lose many members from illness, injuries and mental health due to these dangers. We promise to continue to honor their memory and never forget.
