Apply for a Solicitor's Permit

Step 1.Check your eligibility

You do NOT need a permit if:

• You are collecting donations from your own membership or for an organization, or on behalf of a school, college or university or by an organization sponsored by such. 
• You are a governmental agency acting within the scope of your authority or representing a candidate for election. 
• Your solicitation is a constitutionally guaranteed exercise of your First Amendment rights.

Step 2.Gather your materials

You will need to provide:

• Name of your employer, their business tax receipt number and other details about your job.

Step 3.Complete an application

Fill out the application and print a copy.

Step 4.Receive Orlando Police Department approval

An appointment is required. Please call 407.246.2417 to schedule an appointment with the Orlando Police Department at 1250 West South Street to get fingerprinted.

You will need to bring your completed application with you.

Step 5.Upload your approved application

Submit the Form 

Step 6.Pay the fee

After your application has been processed, you will receive an invoice to pay the fee. You can view any fees that are due and pay them using our Permit Lookup tool.

Step 7.Notify the city of your payment

Reply to the payment email and the Solicitor’s Permit will be sent to you via email.

Step 8.Receive your permit

Download and print your permit. Make sure you place your picture on the designated area and sign.  

Step 9.Renew your permit

If you continue to solicit, you will be required to renew your Solicitor's Permit prior to the expiration date.

Please follow steps 3 through 9. There is a $10 fee for renewal.
