Commercial Food Waste Recycling

The City of Orlando’s Food Waste Recycling Program gives your business the option to recycle pre and post-consumer food waste. Food waste that we collect is sent to an anaerobic digester where it is processed into electricity and fertilizer, diverting it from local landfills. This is important because approximately 20% of landfills are composed of food waste. When food waste ends up in the landfill it creates Methane, a powerful greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming.
