Downtown Gap Study

bikegap_new-map.png

The Orlando Bicycle Beltway will be a total of 8.5 miles, creating a loop, connecting Downtown Orlando to the Fashion Square/Colonial area. The beltway will fill gaps in the existing trail network and ultimately connect Downtown to the region’s trail system.

This study will attempt to develop an alignment that connects the Downtown Connector Trail to Gertrude’s Walk that can move forward to final design.

A map of the approximate study area is shown above, with subareas identified. The intent of the initial subarea screening is to determine the preferred subarea in which to develop up to three (3) alternatives in later phases of the study.

Funding

Funding for this portion of the beltway will come from the city's Neighborhood Improvement Bond.
