Notice
Our 2021 National Night Out Campaign came in fourth place, nationwide, in communities of over 300,000 people! OPD has been in the top five for 16 years, and our Community Relations Division couldn't have pulled it off without the participation and support of our community partners and our Neighborhood Watch Groups, which make up the largest police-and-residents partnership we have. We truly appreciate the watch programs and citizens acting as our eyes and ears! Learn how you can start a Neighborhood Watch Group.
2022 NNO Theme: Giving Crime and Drugs a Going Away Party
National Night Out (NNO) is America’s night to give crime and drugs a going away party.
National Night Out began in 1984 as an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
The Orlando Police Department encourages everyone to turn on their porch light and join their neighbors outside to show they are united against crime and drugs.
NNO gives your neighbors:
- a fun opportunity to get to know each other
- a relaxed atmosphere to get to know the officers who protect and serve them
- an opportunity to meet local officials
