Hispanic Heritage Month Kickoff


Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 2 City Commissioner Tony Ortiz request the honor of your presence at the Hispanic Heritage Month Kickoff - "Hispanic Americas: A History of Serving Our Nation." 

This event celebrates the commencement of Hispanic Heritage month, which runs from September 15 to October 15, 2019 and recognizes the culture and traditions of U.S. residents who trace their roots to Spain, Mexico and the Spanish-speaking nations of Central America, South America and the Caribbean.

The event will feature the presentation of a city proclamation, Latin food, music, entertainment and the ribbon cutting ceremony of the Hispanic Heritage Month Art Exhibit featuring art pieces from Central Florida artists.

Art Exhibition

The Hispanic Heritage Art Exhibition at the Terrace Gallery celebrates the creativity, inspiration, cultural heritage, and art made by artists from around the world. The exhibition features an array of art pieces from 26 Central Florida artists from different cultural backgrounds and art disciplines to celebrate Hispanic heritage and culture. The exhibition is on display from August 19 to October 18, 2019.

The City of Orlando is proud of its diverse and vibrant multicultural community that attracts people from across the country and globe who want to seek opportunity and call Orlando home. This art exhibition is a celebration of our diversity and acknowledgment of the contributions of our growing Hispanic/Latino community in our City Beautiful and nation.

The ribbon-cutting will take place on September 12 after the kickoff protocol ceremony concludes. The artists who are exhibiting their artworks at the Terrace Gallery are:
