Apply for City of Orlando Summer Youth Employment

Step 1.Check your eligibility

To apply, you must be:

• a resident of the City of Orlando
• between the ages of 15 and 19

Step 2.Fill out the initial application

Submit an application 

Step 3.Visit an open house to provide necessary documents

Students should bring the following with them to register at an open house:

• Application
• Birth Certificate
• Signed social security card
• School ID or Florida ID
• Free and reduced lunch letter from Guidance Counselor 

If students attend a school that doesn't have free and reduced lunch or they do not qualify for free and reduced lunch, they must submit their parents paystub.

Step 4.You will receive program orientation information

Before starting your internship, you will receive training on topics such as resume building, financial literacy, and professionalism.

Step 5.We will refer you to a company and position 

Step 6.Start your new internship

Step 7.You will receive ongoing evaluations and guidance

Each student is assigned a case manager to help them navigate the internship experience. Case workers will check in regularly and provide guidance.
