Housing Rehabilitation Program

Are you a low income resident in need of home repairs on your property?

Find out how the City of Orlando assists qualified homeowners with paying for repairs to their homes to help reduce safety and health-related code violations.

 Keep in mind:

  • We will inform you in writing if payment assistance for the repairs to the property is denied based on the initial review. You will have 30 days to contest that denial with new documentation.

Step 1.Check your eligibility

We are unable to offer assistance if:

  • You do not own and occupy your own home.
  • Your home is a townhouse, condominium, mobile home or trailer.
  • Your home is not located within Orlando city limits.
  • The home is not the principal residence of the owner.
  • Your home has outstanding property tax, home insurance, utilities or mortgage payments due.

Step 2.Calculate and document your household income

Get copies of pay stubs for the members of your household and calculate your total household income.

Step 3.Complete intake form

Applications are currently closed.

Keep in mind: Due to overwhelming community need, and because the flow of funds is regulated by the State of Florida, we prioritize application reviews on the basis of need:
  • households that fall within the Low and Very Low-income brackets
  • households with documented special needs
  • households in need of emergency repair

Step 4.Join the waiting list

If your application passes initial review, you will be placed on the program's wait list for assistance. Expect the city to follow up with you in three to six months. The city can only move as quickly as state and federal funds become available.

Step 5.If eligible, complete full application

If you are eligible and funding becomes available, the city will send you a form to apply for specific improvements. You will have 30 days to return the application and provide all of the required documentation.
