2021 ADA Transition Plan Update

The city’s Public Works Department and Transportation Department are working in conjunction with a consultant to update the city’s ADA Transition Plan.

Air Release Valve Improvements

Beginning Fall 2022, the City's Public Works Department will oversee Air Release Valve (ARV) rehabilitation or replacement. There are 24 ARV locations throughout Districts 1, 3, and 5. The competitive bid contractor anticipates the project will take 1-year and 3-months to complete.

Air Release Valve Rehabilitation

The City's Public Works Department will oversee the rehabilitation or replacement for air release valves in multiple locations. This sanitary sewer project will lessen opportunities for future problems.

Carrier Drive Roadway Improvements and Roundabout Project

Universal Studios is currently working on plans to improve Carrier Drive from Universal Boulevard to Kirkman Road to accommodate improved pedestrian and bicycle connectivity.

Central Boulevard and Eola Drive Improvements

The project consists of improvements to two existing pedestrian ramps and crosswalks, as well as adding two additional crosswalks to meet all FDOT and City of Orlando Standards as prescribed in the City of Orlando’s Engineering Standards Manual.

City Park at the Packing District

A city park will be built within the new Packing District development project.

City Sidewalk Construction

Soon, the City will make improvements to its pedestrian sidewalks. Improving sidewalk paths will allow constituents to easily transverse neighborhoods and communities while enhancing urban connectivity.
