The City's Public Works Department is closely monitoring the global supply chain issue, labor shortages, and increases in the price of materials.

The competitive bid contractor and the City will strive to complete a capital improvement project on time and within budget. However, due to circumstances outside the control of both entities, there may be delays in necessary materials, potential for projects to be completed over budget, and potential delays.

We will continue to work with the community and our stakeholders to address the abovementioned issues and return normalcy to a community.

Working hours are Monday through Friday, between 7 am and 5 pm. There may be times when night work or work on Saturdays are necessary. Night and work on Saturday may become necessary due to unforeseen circumstances, adverse weather, or opportunities to expedite project completion.

During construction, should an emergency occur, first responders and emergency vehicles will have priority access to surrounding neighborhoods.

Other potential impacts are:

  • The possibility for traffic congestion or delays.

  • An Increase in commute times.

  • An increase in noise during project hours.

  • The installation of temporary traffic signs and message boards.

  • Temporary road detours, lane shifts and lane closures.

  • Temporary sidewalk detours and closures.

  • There may be times when a neighborhood entranceway is briefly impacted.

Should the potential impacts above occur, the contractor will attempt to find feasible solutions for residents or businesses. Commuters may wish to plan their trips in advance as construction may increase travel times.
