The City of Orlando is committed to improving safety and connectivity. In support of these efforts, the City of Orlando is assessing the needs of the community and the feasibility to construct a sidewalk path on the south side of Lake Weldona Drive, between Delaney Park Drive and Bahama Drive.

Prompt for Assessment:

Over the last few months, the city received concerns regarding the safety of residents who walk and/or bike on Lake Weldona Drive among vehicles also using the roadway.

Sidewalk Path Feasibility:

In two weeks, city survey team members will stake, flag, and string the proposed sidewalk path. Doing so will allow the community an opportunity to visualize where the proposed sidewalk path will lie within the public right-of-way.

Neighborhood Community Meeting:

After the survey crew complete the temporary marking of the proposed path, the Public Works Department will hold a virtual community meeting on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, to present more information about the project and seek neighborhood feedback.

The Public Works Department will host the virtual meeting on the telecommunication platform Zoom. A link will be provided within this tab, as we move closure to Wednesday, December 9th.

The area marked in orange is the proposed location for the sidewalk path on Lake Weldona Drive.
