The Lido Street project will help lessen incidents for flooding in the immediate and surrounding neighborhoods.

The City's Public Works Department will oversee a stormwater improvement project on Lido Street. In August, the City's contractor Intercounty Engineering, Inc, will install a new 24-inch stormwater drainage system on Gaston Foster Rd and Lido St. Once on Lido St, the City's contractor will also use this opportunity to remove and replace an aging 8-inch sanitary sewer pipeline, replacing it with a new one.

We expect to complete this project in one year. Please know adverse weather and unforeseen circumstances can create delays or prolong the project.

Once the project starts, constituents will notice crews and equipment working in the public right-of-way, roadway, and in areas identified as easements. Project hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Should the contractor experience unforeseen circumstances, there may be opportunities for work on weekends. Please adhere to all posted traffic, pedestrian, and construction signs in the project area.

Public Works and the City's contractor will coordinate with the City's Solid Waste Division to maintain recycling and solid waste collection. Should there be a missed collection, the City's Solid Waste Division will make another attempt for collection.

*Should an emergency occur, first responders and emergency vehicles will have priority access.

Lido St:
Constituents who live on Lido St will experience temporary detours and roadway closures for through-traffic. The contractor will assist and coordinate with residents to maintain access to the neighborhood and residential driveways. There is potential for temporary sidewalk closures and detours to protect pedestrians during project hours.

*Know, there will be times when a driveway or pedestrian walkway is impacted temporarily as the project progresses.

Gaston Foster Rd:
Pedestrians, commuters, and constituents living on Gaston Foster Rd near Coquina Ct will notice crews working in the public right-of-way near the northbound lane. During this phase, there is potential for temporary sidewalk closures and detours where work occurs. We ask that commuters and pedestrians use caution when navigating the area. Crews, vehicles, and equipment will be present during project hours.

When the project approaches the cul-de-sac on Lido St, the work in the roadway, right-of-way, and easements will make accessing residential driveways at the cul-de-sac challenging.

During this phase of the project, constituents may need to temporarily park their vehicles on Lido St outside of the cul-de-sac. Doing so will help maintain a safe environment and allow residents to come and leave uninterrupted during project hours.

Golf carts will be available to shuttle residents who live at the cul-de-sac may experience temporary interruptions to their driveways during this phase of the project during project hours.

*A dedicated phone number for the golf cart shuttle will be provided when the project approaches the area.

Public Works and Intercounty Engineering, Inc continue to monitor the COVID-19 Pandemic and the reopening of the Orange County Public School System.

Although the project will not directly impact Dover Shores Elementary, the project management team will make a considerable effort to communicate updates to Dover Shores Elementary and O.C.P.S. when necessary.

Again, we expect the impact on students, parents, and faculty to be minimum.
