The City of Orlando and Orange County collectively developed a set of proposed improvements along the Econlockhatchee Trail corridor, in order to build the transportation infrastructure needed to address the fast growing suburbs in southeast Central Florida.
The Econlockhatchee Trail Improvement Project (the “project”) emerged from the 2015 Vista Park and Bal Bay Planned Development (PD) studies that recommended improving and extending Econlockhatchee Trail between Curry Ford Road (to the north) and Dowden Road (to the south).
The project’s goal is to improve north-south connectivity east of the Orlando International Airport between Narcoossee Road and State Road 417, relieving existing congestion and enhancing overall transportation infrastructure in this area.
