Construction of New Orlando Tennis Centre

Last updated on January 02, 2020

The new Orlando Tennis Centre will offer improved facilities and tennis courts for tennis players of all skill levels to enjoy.

On Monday, December 11, 2018 City Council voted to accept a donation of 104 acres from the Dr. Philips Charities of which includes a portion of the 104 arces to build a new tennis centre at Princeton Street and John Young Parkway. The land was officially donated on February 12, 2018. HJ High was selected as the design builder with Borrelli + Partners as a designer for the tennis centre improvements. We expect to break ground in Spring of 2020.

We will continue to keep you up to date on any changes as design continues.

The current tennis facility has been in use since 1932. As Creative Village continues to expand around the current Orlando Tennis Centre the donated land presents an opportunity to create an enhanced facility with an updated clubhouse and newest technology.

Currently, the property is expected to receive a new tennis welcome center - clubhouse that's around 4,000 square feet. The new facility will house a pro shop, meeting space, locker rooms with showers, a maintenance building, and other facilities. There are 16 lighted tennis courts proposed for the new Centre (five hard courts and eleven clay courts.)

Other improvements under consideration:

  • Biking trails
  • green space
  • pavilion and performance area
